This tutorial shows you how to draw a geofence along a route or around an approach, link it to a tracker and get an alert when the asset arrives. Use it to know when a delivery is 20 minutes out, so the crew is ready to unload.

Steps
- Open Settings, then Geofences, and start a new geofence.
- Zoom to the stretch of road or the approach you want to monitor.
- Click to place the first point, then keep adding points along the route to cover every approach. Tighter shapes give more precise alerts.
- Double-click to finish and close the shape.
- Give the geofence a name, a description and, if it only applies at certain times, a calendar. Select Save.
- Open GeoTags, select the tracker and link it to the geofence.
- Choose the trigger, such as Geofence entered, and whether to be alerted by email or SMS.
Good to know
- Draw the fence where you want the warning, not at the destination. A fence 20 minutes out gives the crew time to prepare.
- Clear geofence names matter when you link them to trackers later.
