Set up your account preferences and alerts

This tutorial shows you how to set your personal account preferences so alerts reach you, and so coordinates, speeds, distances and times read the way your team expects.

Steps

1. Open the menu and go to Account.
2. Open your profile settings.
3. Add your phone number in international format, so SMS alerts reach you wherever you are.
4. Choose a coordinate format, for example decimal degrees.
5. Choose speed and distance units: mph or km/h, miles or kilometres, and a unit for short distances and altitude.
6. Set your time zone so timestamps are consistent across teams and regions.
7. Turn on sound alerts for urgent notifications.
8. Select Save.

Good to know

• GeoTag records altitude as well as position. Pick the short-distance unit you want height shown in.
